Matt Foster

Matt is a current member of the Australian Fencing Team and has been representing Australia at international level since the age of 13. Individually he broke into the open world top 100 rankings in 2014 at the age of 16 and won the Oceania Open Foil Championship in the same year. He has since won several national and state championships and is the current UniGames gold medal holder (2016 and 2017).  In team events Matt anchored the Australian team at the 2014 Commonwealth Championships in Scotland and along with Ned Fitzgerald was part of the Australian team that defeated Russia (then world No 2) and Poland (also world number 2) in the 2015 and 2016 Junior World Championships respectively. Matt is a certified level 1 foil coach and is also the fencing coach of Caulfield Grammar School.
